Description
EFAW - Emergency First Aid at Work - training enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.
EFAW lasts for at least six hours of training and is run over one day.
This course is HSE (FAAMS) Approved Training.
EFAW certificates last for three years. Before their certificates expire, first-aiders will need to undertake an EFAW requalification course to obtain another three-year certificate.

Who should attend
Any individual who wishes to take up or maintain a position in track work, and any other person wanting a one day but comprehensive first aid training and certification.

Treatment of an unconscious casualty

Course Duration
EFAW - Emergency First Aid at Work – training lasts for at least six hours of training and is run over one day.
Certification
After completing a final assessment successful candidates will receive a 1stinrail HSE approved EFAW certificate valid for three years.
This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this three day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary.
