Job Title: Site Person in Charge
Reports To: Night Manager and Director.
Location: London, but may be required to work away.
Role:
To act as a Site Person in Charge.
Responsibilities and accountabilities are as defined in Rule Book 16.

SPC Specific Behaviour (Rule Book 16):
You must appoint a protection master when staff are working in a group on the operational railway and you must hold a planning meeting with him before work starts.
You must make sure persons undertaking safety critical activities are properly authorised to do so.
You must make sure all staff:
- Are or have been fully briefed as to the limits and scope of the work.
- Are fully briefed under your accountability as to the emergency and first aid procedures.
You must always carry on you the appropriate certificate for the location of the worksite and show them on request.
You must always identify yourself on the attendance sheet to:-
- All members of the work group.
- Anyone who needs to know that you and your work group are at a particular location.
You must:-
- Check that all materials, plant and equipment are available before the start of work.
- Make sure that at the end of the shift or, when the work has finished, that all materials are either securely stored in a designated area (to prevent them moving during the passage of a train) or are removed from the site.
- Make sure that the work is planned so that it can be finished during the shift using the agreed programme.
You are responsible for the:
- Discipline of staff within a worksite.
- Work procedures and requirements within a work site.
- Completion of all necessary paperwork in accordance with the clients requirements.

- Keep vehicles, tools and equipment in good order and report any faults.
- Know the location of fire points in the areas you are working.
- Know the fire drill and to ensure that fire points exist and are not obstructed.
- Know the location of first aid points in the area you are working.
- Attend for work promptly and properly equipped.
