Stephen Jackson


1st Inrail’s Managing Director and a highly respected figure within the rail industry, Stephen has led the company since 2007, spearheading its success and taking overall responsibility for the strategic direction, management and development of the business.

A Member of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors, his career began in 1988 as a Junior QS for a major rail contractor, the next few years seeing him move swiftly through the ranks before achieving the position of Contracts Director in 2001 and Operations Director just three years later.

Co-founding 1st Inrail in 2007, Stephen’s disciplined and commercially astute approach to business has laid the foundations for the company’s subsequent growth, his focus upon continuous monitoring and improvement cementing its position as partner of choice for some of the UK’s leading rail organisations.

Disciplined, energetic and passionately committed to the furtherment of his team, in all areas of the business he prefers to lead by example, carrying with him a reputation for honesty and fairness with clients, partners and team members alike.
