Wayne Grundy

Conscientious and knowledgeable with decades of experience in track maintenance and construction, Wayne is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance and patrolling contracts are managed in accordance with both the client’s requirements and the company’s management systems.

Joining 1st Inrail as Contracts Manager in 2009, he started his rail career as a platelayer in the late ’80s, his first-hand experience of track renewal and maintenance operations making him an invaluable source of support, technical and operational advice to our workforce. He continually encourages an environment of committed and considerate service provision and remains dedicated to the growth and development of the business to this day.

With a keen appreciation for the issues faced by our clients, Wayne is passionate about improving the flow of information throughout all stakeholders, guaranteeing effective reporting from an internal perspective as well as ensuring that clients have a detailed understanding and thus budgetary control of their assets.

Key responsibilities

  • The day-to-day management of all aspects of the maintenance contracting department including works on site and workforce operations
  • Regular interface and liaison with our clients to ensure consistent flow of detailed reporting and information flow to maintain our client focussed service
  • Developing and securing opportunities for other contractual and non-contractual services
